Ayumi Hamasaki (浜崎 あゆみ Hamasaki Ayumi), otherwise known as "ayu" by his fans is one of the most famous female singer in Japan. Ayu dubbed the "queen of Japanese pop" because of his success.
Since its debut in 1998 with first single "poker face", so far he has sold more than 50 million albums and singles just in Japan alone, not counting the many other countries. He has released eight studio albums, 40 singles, one mini-album, four compilation albums in the shade of a record company Avex Trax which has resulted in many hits and occupied the top - top of the charts in Japan. He is a solo artist and most successful female artist as well as the second most successful artist in the history of Japanese music industry to date.
